Each year the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management makes three awards in recognition of contributions made by individuals to the development of the profession of purchasing and supply management. They are: The Garner Thémoin – Advancement of the Profession Award is presented to an individual for modest, unselfish, sincere and persistent efforts for the advancement of purchasing, supply management and logistics. 2009 Winner: Imelda Carrillo (Philippines)
The Hans Ovelgönne – Purchasing Research Award is presented to an individual from a University, company or association for outstanding contribution to the development of purchasing and supply management based on research and development studies and work. 2009 winner: Professor Jan Telgen (Hungary)
The Lewis E. Spangler - Purchasing Professional Award is presented to an individual coming from a company or association who has proved an outstanding commitment to the profession of purchasing and supply management by evidence of successful contribution to the bottom line as well as by support given to their collaborators in the field of education and training. 2009 Winner: Darin Matthews (USA) Nominations for any of the awards should be submitted to Charles Holden, IFPSM director general, on charlesholden@btinternet.com no later than 31 August 2010.
